Camden Cringe is The Metal Detector Club's debut live comedy show. The comedy group aim to create an hour long show which combines surrealist sketches, satirical observational comedy, whimsical songs and edgy stand-up to create a truly unique live performance.

The three members of the group (Graeme, Thom & Chris), all currently students at seperate universities, are looking forward to not only making light of terrible TV ideas, bad rapping and snooty commentary but also to present a range of enjoyable characters & songs to entertain the audience. Sketches include: the tale of infamous highwayman Maxwell Montez, a surreal driving lesson and people constantly trying to 'one-up' each other.

“I think live comedy often works so much better in more intimate venues,” says Thom. “Luckily, we’re performing in I think what’s called London’s smallest theatre so it doesn’t get much more intimate than that. We’ll be having a good time sharing what we think is funny and hopefully the audience will find it funny too.” Graeme then notes: “If Gaga can do it, why can’t we?”

Other highlights of the show include performances of some of their songs, as the group have recently released a comedy EP 'Have A Little Cry', which is available for download from this website and online music services as well.

Graeme comments: “We all bring something different to the mix giving the show the feeling of three unique minds working together, from different angles, to create what we hope is thoroughly unique comedy experience.” “We really want the audience to get a lot out of our performance, so much so that no-one goes home empty handed,” interjects Thom. “Everyone who comes to see us each gets a copy of our fan-zine style programme and even a pin- badge too, so it’s a truly all-inclusive night out.” Chris adds: “Some of the ideas that have made it into the show are things we jokingly thought up about five years ago. We’ve finally got a platform to present all these mad and funny thoughts and ideas of ours. We can’t wait.”
